The Region of Waterloo and the City of Kitchener work together to conserve, protect and distribute one of our most precious resources - our water.
Through Kitchener Utilities, the City of Kitchener is responsible for the overall operation of the city's water distribution system and for maintaining the infrastructure of the pipes, valves, and pumps that keep our community's water, and sewage systems flowing.
The Region of Waterloo's water services provides local municipalities - including Kitchener with approximately 180 million litres of drinking water daily and it treats about 170 million litres of wastewater everyday.
The region is also responsible for water efficiency, water resource protection and sewer-use control programs.
