As Kitchener grows and concerns increase regarding the effect of poor air quality, greenhouse gases, climate change and shortages of fuel, citizens have identified a need to look into how we use energy.
Taking public transit, walking and cycling are quickly become the transportation modes of choice for many residents in our community
More people are realizing that hopping on a bus or a bike, or lacing up your running shoes and pounding the pavement is, just as easy, much healthier and more enjoyable than getting behind the wheel of a car.
It's a fact, travelling across our city -- and Waterloo Region at large -- can be accomplished by walking, bicycling or combining those activities with transit.
By leaving your car at home for a few trips you can:
Lead a healthier lifestyle by adding more physical activity to your routine.
Feel more connected to your community.
Help protect the environment.
Save money normally spent on gasoline and parking.
