Traffic Calming

Under the City of Kitchener's traffic calming policy, and through a prioritized list - based on traffic volumes, speeds, collision occurrence, as well as impact on emergency services and provided pedestrian amenities - we undertake full-scale traffic-calming reviews on our residential roadways.

Over the course of the study, we will:

Conduct public meetings with the affected residents.
Confirm and outline the existing traffic conditions, including volumes, speeds and collision history.
Develop a set of alternative solutions for analysis.
Present the alternatives considered to the public, including the recommended alternative, based on an evaluation of all alternatives.
Ensure local resident support for any recommended measures before their implementation.
Conduct extensive follow up reviews of any traffic calming implementations to ensure their effectiveness and continued local resident support.
