Many of Kitchener's leaders begin their journey toward lifelong learning by attending local elementary and secondary school under one of four publicly funded school boards that operate in our community:
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board - the corporate body overseeing Waterloo Region's Catholic schools - protects and promotes a tradition of education excellence, as the eighth-largest Catholic school system in Ontario.
The Waterloo Region District School Board is one of the larger district school boards in Ontario, serving approximately 60,000 students in the Region of Waterloo. The schools within the board provide instruction designed to develop junior kindergarten to grade 12 students, and equip them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide a solid foundation for living and learning.
Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud/Catholic District School Board Centre South - the Roman Catholic separate, French-language school board for the south-central region of Ontario, providing education steeped in French culture and Catholic faith. More than 13,000 students attend the board's 41 elementary schools and eight secondary schools.
Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest/District School Board Centre-South-West - the public, French-language-based school board for the central south-west region of Ontario. The board operates 29 elementary schools and 11 secondary schools.
