In addition to the quality education provided by our two local school boards, Kitchener is also home to a number of private schools, providing children from junior kindergarten to Grade 12 with all of the same educational opportunities available in the public school system - on a smaller, more direct scale.
Private schools are not administered by the provincial government and they do not run on public funding. Thus, they retain the right to select their students; and they are funded in whole or in part by charging their students tuition. Tuition is used to pay teacher salaries and provide enriched learning environments, including a low student to teacher ratio, small class sizes and services.
