Fire Fighting Services

Our fire service takes great pride in protecting the community from fire, life-threatening emergencies and dangerous conditions - and equipping citizens with the knowledge they need to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

We own and operate the following seven fire stations across the city, ensuring all of our neighbourhoods are within a short distance when help is needed:

Station 2: 187 Lancaster St. W.
Station 3: 1035 Ottawa St. N.
Station 4: 25 Fairway Rd. N.
Station 5: 1700 Queens Blvd.
Station 6: 149 Pioneer Dr.
Station 7: 1440 Huron Rd.

The core services our fire department provides are:

Basic life support services
Direct Detect fire-monitoring system
Prevention
Public education
Rescue
Suppression

In order to provide our core services the fire department has in-house:

Communications and dispatching
Staff training
Apparatus and Equipment maintenance and repair
Administration

In the interest of openness and transparency, Kitchener Fire also publishes an annual report, providing statistics, facts and figures from the previous year.

How to Report a Hazard or Lodge a Complaint

If you have a complaint about a property, or you want to report a potential hazard, please contact us at 519-741-2495.

Be prepared to provide:

Address you are calling about
Type or description of building
The nature of your complaint
Your call-back information

All complaints are confidential, but the area inspector may need to contact you for more information so a return phone number is important. After hours, you may leave a detailed voice message at 519-741-2495 and your call will be returned the next business day.
