Every year Kitchener dedicates resources to developing new, or updating existing, parks, trails and natural areas. The following is a list of Kitchener's current development projects:

| Doon South Trails | Construction of stonedust trail network through the Doon South Natural Areas. |

| Joseph Schoerg Parkette | Construction of neighbourhood parkette |
| Walter Bean Trail | Construction of the pedestrian bridge crossing the Grand River at Doon Valley Golf Course. Construction of woodland trail East of Tinatawa Court. |
