About Breithaupt Centre

Breithaupt Centre, located at 350 Margaret Ave., has been serving downtown Kitchener and the surrounding neighbourhoods since 1964 - acting as a gathering place for children and youth to adults, older adults and families.

Featuring two swimming pools, a single gymnasium, a solarium and six meeting rooms, as well as an outdoor rink in the winter time, the centre is equipped to offer programs and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Programs

Each year, we offer a camps for children, during March break and over the summer.

We also offer a variety of fun, educational programming, including:

Arts and crafts
Dance
Fitness classes
Pay-as-you-play sports
Swim lessons, recreational swims and aquafitness classes
Youth drop-in
Preschool

Registration for Breithaupt Centre Programs is available online using WEBreg or in person at Breithaupt Centre, Rockway Centre, Downtown Community Centre or at all indoor pools.

Opportunities for older adults

Breithaupt Centre offers a variety of opportunities to become involved through volunteering, social activities, workshops, walking groups, special events and recreation. Please refer to the Best of Times publication for a list of ongoing older-adult programs and other general information.

We offer many Leisure programs for older adults. For more information, please see the program section above.

Additional services include

Snack bar - offers affordable light lunches in the relaxed atmosphere of the solarium. The snack bar is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Public Access Computers - Available in the solarium daily until 8:00 p.m.
Foot care clinic - Fridays. Nursing professionals assist with nail care, care of corns and calluses and offer foot assessments. Appointments are available between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please call 519-576-7474 to book your appointment.
Outdoor Winter Rink - Open daily from 8:00am-10:00pm during winter months (weather permitting).

Available for rent

Breithaupt Centre is also available for rent for meetings and special events.
