The Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) require municipalities to develop an accessibility plan that identifies and sets in place actions for the removal of barriers for people with disabilities. Kitchener and Waterloo work together to develop and update this plan annually.
The joint plan describes the actions each of the participating municipalities took in the previous year and the areas to be reviewed in the coming year, including measures and actions.
