| 2010 Who-are-you-Kitchener? campaign results Over the past several months since the 2010 campaign ended in May, city staff have been analyzing all of the valuable feedback that we received. Through the campaign, you confirmed our shared priorities and vision for the city and provided us with feedback on each that has now been used to develop new strategic directions. These strategic directions, which will be included in an updated version of the City of Kitchener Strategic Plan in 2011, will help us continue to achieve progress in the areas that we all believe are most important to our city's future. |
Background
Who-are-you-Kitchener? community consultation campaigns are conducted once every four years, just prior to a new Council being elected. This community consultation invites all residents to join the conversation about the community's vision and priorities for the future.
Led by Compass Kitchener, a group of citizens that advises city council, and City of Kitchener staff, this grassroots citizen engagement campaign is made up of two phases:
The Environics Survey completed by residents in 2005 and 2009.
The follow-up Who-are-you-Kitchener? campaign conducted in 2006 and 2010.
Through the first two campaigns, Kitchener residents have helped to develop a shared community vision and priorities for the future of the city.
Today, that vision and those community priorities are at the heart of the City of Kitchener's Strategic Plan - the single, comprehensive framework that directs the work and spending of city government and ensures that city staff continue to deliver key results in areas that citizens believe are critical to our city's health and vitality.
