Sportsworld Arena Improvements

The city was awarded $600,000 in federal and provincial infrastructure funding for upgrades to the existing Sportsworld twin-pad arena for enhanced customer service and improved energy efficiency. The city also contributed $300,000 in funding, which means the total amount allocated for this project was $900,000.

The upgrades to the arena are now complete; they were celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event in March 2011, featuring a free public skate.
