Collections

Since its establishment, Kitchener's corporate archives team has brought together records and artifacts from all city departments and the community. Today, the collection reflects the historical, cultural, growth and development, and achievements of our city.

Many pieces of our collection are available online.

What We Collect

Kitchener collects all archival records and other materials, in any medium, either created by:

Any city employee
Member of city council or their appointees acting in their respective capacities
External sources

Accepted materials document the development of municipal government and administration in Kitchener (prior to and since incorporation as a city in 1912).
