Playing our part to stimulate the economy
Accessibility Improvements
The city has improved access to its facilities, in line with provincially legislated requirements, after being awarded $667,000 in federal and provincial infrastructure funding. The city also contributed $333,000 in funding, which means the total amount allocated for this project was $1 million.
Project background
The Province of Ontario is committed to building an accessible province by 2025. For its part in the process, the city enhanced a number of its existing facilities, to ensure accessibility for all citizens.
This project improved access, customer service, assembly areas, washroom facilities and travel ability between floors of multi-storey buildings.
